Wound Care
Free wound care peer support group available now
Tissue viability nurse at Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust, Laura Lodge, has launched a free online peer support group, now running, for people living with long-term wounds and their families.
Her recent research highlighted a key gap: While stress can slow wound healing, emotional support for these patients is often lacking. Laura said: “Stress increases cortisol levels, which can delay wound healing. Yet mental health support for wound patients is scarce — and that needs to change.”
This new group offers a safe, supportive space to connect and share experiences.
Please consider referring patients who may benefit. Patients can find all the information they need here.
