Name & Role: Elle Clark, Office manager
Background: ”I've worked in GP practices for over 11 years, starting out at Abbey Court before joining The Wells when we merged in September 2021. I work closely with the Practice Manager on the day-to-day running of the practice, focusing on logistics, planning, and managing our brilliant admin team.”
Fun Fact: “I live in a house ruled by four dogs – a Pomeranian, a Jack Russell, a Chihuahua, and a Golden Retriever. It’s chaotic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!”
Name & Role: Holly Shorten, Practice Nurse

Fun Fact: “I’ve just completed my third season with the Uckfield Ladies Rugby Team and am excited to dive into my fourth season soon!”

Mounjaro Update
An update on the availability and prescribing of Mounjaro (tirepatide) to support weight loss:
From Monday, 23rd June, people living with obesity will be able to be prescribed tirzepatide (Mounjaro) for weight loss purposes in primary care settings.
Please see here for full information on availability and who is eligible.
An insight into Mounjaro injections from our clinical pharmacist, Tony Kung:
“You may have heard that Mounjaro injections for weight loss will soon be available at more GP surgeries across England. The rollout will happen gradually, starting with those who need it most.
We're still waiting for our local NHS to confirm funding and set up the proper training and systems. Until then, we've been asked not to prescribe Mounjaro, so please bear with us while these arrangements are put in place.
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) belongs to a class of medication called GLP-1 receptor agonist. It helps you lose weight by making you feel fuller for longer and slowing down how quickly food leaves your stomach. This makes it easier to eat less and stick to healthier habits. Originally, this medication was created to help people with type 2 diabetes control their blood sugar levels.
Clinical studies show excellent results, but like all medications, Mounjaro can cause side effects. The most common ones include feeling sick, indigestion, diarrhoea, and constipation - these usually get better as your body gets used to the medication. Less common side effects can include hair loss, gallstones, and inflammation of the pancreas. If you're pregnant or planning to become pregnant, this medication isn't suitable for you, and you'll need to use effective contraception while taking it. If you are already taking this medication with other regular medications, please arrange a medication review with our clinical pharmacist to check for any interactions and optimise your treatment.”
Sustainable weight loss
While weight loss injections can be a useful tool to kick-start a weight loss journey, the most sustainable way to lose weight and get healthy is diet and lifestyle changes.
There are many services available on the NHS which support and encourage these changes:
If eligible, these can be a useful opportunity for patients to aid weight loss.
Chatty Café Scheme
The Chatty Café Scheme is the UK’s leading non-profit organisation tackling loneliness.
